About this place
Green onion ramen pairs a generous helping of green onions with the restaurant’s homemade sauce. Diners have praised the way the onions’ crisp texture works with the soup. Another visitor says green onion chashu is a favourite they order again and again, making green onions a natural choice for anyone wanting them to take centre stage.
For a taste of several popular toppings at once, consider the Dōraku Ramen, topped with nori seaweed, a seasoned egg and green onions. Bean sprouts and house-made chashu round it out; the menu describes it as the restaurant’s most popular ramen. The ramen range starts with tonkotsu soy sauce, with tonkotsu miso and rich seafood broth options also available. Tonkotsu soy sauce ramen costs ¥950, while tonkotsu miso ramen is ¥1,100, so you can choose by flavour or budget.
On days when you fancy noodles served separately from the soup, the dipping noodles can be customised to suit. Choose tonkotsu or rich seafood soup, then select soy sauce, spicy soy sauce, miso or spicy miso, and finish with thick or thin noodles. Miso and spicy soy sauce each cost an extra ¥50, while spicy miso costs an extra ¥100. A large noodle serving costs ¥50, and a double serving ¥100. With choices of flavour, heat and noodle quantity, it is easy to tailor the bowl to your appetite.
Side dishes include 5 gyoza or a chashu rice bowl, as well as green onions or chashu served as snacks. The Hatanodai branch is open for 24 hours. One late-night diner said the restaurant came in handy when other places were closed, so it is worth keeping in mind when looking for a meal at an unusual hour.
